Phase 1

The first phase of the Dukan diet includes 72 foods low in fat and high in protein. The diet is only allowed in moderation during this time. This phase limits the intake of carbs, vegetables, and fat for five days and then gradually allows all other types of foods. It promotes long-term weight management. The only food that is not allowed during phase one is fish. But don't worry! It's okay to eat fish occasionally.

Despite the strict adherence to the Dukan diet, there are some drawbacks. For one thing, this diet doesn't provide enough variety. Besides, it's unsustainable as it's not balanced nutritionally. Once you have completed the first phase of the Dukan diet, you can begin the plan's second phase. The second phase focuses on maintaining weight, while the third focuses on gaining muscle. This phase is more restrictive than the other phases, but the overall plan is easy to follow and a good start for healthy weight loss. Several important guidelines for each phase of the diet include a daily exercise schedule and a list of permitted and forbidden foods.

Once you've completed Phase 1, you can move on to the next phase. After this initial phase, you can have a celebratory meal weekly. This phase also involves an increase in certain types of fruits and vegetables. This phase should last a minimum of five days for every 500 grams lost weight. This will help you reach a permanent state of equilibrium. This phase is crucial for maintaining your body's health and well-being.

Phase 2 is the longest phase of the Dukan diet. It is designed to burn fat by restricting carbs. In addition, you can eat unlimited amounts of high-protein foods. You can also consume 1.5 tablespoons of oat bran daily, lowering cholesterol levels and preventing diabetes. In addition to being a high-protein food, the Dukan diet encourages you to feel full longer. You can choose to lose up to ten pounds in this phase or even more - it all depends on your goals.
